How to Meditate

 

 

 

* Turn off the phones, television and other distractions.

* Sit or lie in a comfortable position.

* Close or half close your eyes and begin to concentrate on your breathing. Count your breaths from 1 to 10 and then begin again.

* Thoughts will come and go but the object of meditating is to still your mind, to cleanse your mind of negativity.

* If it helps, visualize yourself in a peaceful ocean or mountain setting. Or recite a "mantra" like "Om" or "peace".
